AION will not ship in a year. The sequence below is not aspirational. It is the order in which independent engineering and policy work must land for the convergence doctrine to be real.

What is true today

Where we actually are

The Codex Aionis exists. Of the seven realities, the cryptographic prototype binds two locally today — math (AES-256-GCM split with Shamir four-of-seven) and memory (an Argon2id key from your private answer, mixed into the secret the four shards rebuild, so shards alone cannot open the vault) — both running in your browser, both still unaudited. Geography and time are formalized in doctrine but not yet enforced: no shard is AION-hosted, so the seven-sovereign distribution remains the Phase 3 target, and the time layer is a soft VDF, not bound to the encryption key and not yet a gate. Phase 1 is underway to harden these primitives — the formal cryptographic audit, the zero-knowledge audit chain, KYC, and the dead-man-switch — before any production sealing. No vault has been sealed for production use. No real secrets should be placed in the prototype. The audit lands at the close of Phase 1.

    Charter drafted. Doctrine recorded across CONVERGENCE, MEMORY_LAYER, STATE_MODEL, THREAT_MODEL. Local Next.js prototype shipping the seal → unseal cryptographic round-trip.

  2. Phase 1Building

    MVP — math, geography, time, memory

    Audited seal/unseal flows. Argon2id memory layer composed into the AES key path. Postgres schema and zero-knowledge audit chain. KYC, dead-man-switch, and a formal cryptographic audit before public sealings.

  3. Phase 2Pending

    Trust ritual + voice

    AI voice clone capture. Time-locked letters with calibrated VDF. Multi-heir designation. Mobile companion. The unsealing ceremony surfaces in production form.

  4. Phase 3Pending

    Multi-jurisdiction live

    Seven sovereigns wired into the active ciphertext storage path. Trustee panel hardware-backed. First physical sanctuary. Multilingual inscription and certificate.

  5. Phase 4Pending

    DNA + synthetic quartz

    DNA storage tier with Twist Biosciences. Project Silica synthetic-quartz tier. Sanctuary network across at least five cities, each with its own physical pilgrimage protocol.

  6. Phase 5Pending

    Lunar archive

    Lunar Codex partnership. The AION Constellation: a lunar-anchored copy of the encrypted vault, intended to outlive Earth. The Eternal Library begins.

  7. Phase 6+Future

    Civilizational

    Multi-civilizational discoverability protocols. Post-quantum-locked permanence. Mars when the launch windows align; further bodies as substrate capacity matures. The vault designed for a person born in 2125 becomes the vault designed for a person born in 3125.

The honest part

Why phases are not deadlines

A timeline that promises civilizational permanence within a quarter would be a lie. Each phase depends on engineering, cryptographic review, regulatory clarity in each sovereign, and partnerships that do not exist yet. The Codex commits to the sequence, not to dates. Dates are added when they are provable.
